X+3y= -14
-4x- 3y= 2
-----------------
-3x = -12
-3x/-3 = -12/-3
x = 4

X+3y=-14
4+3y=-14
4-4 +3y = 14-4
3y = -18
3y/3 = -18/3
y = -6

Check
-4x- 3y=2

-4(4)- 3(-6) = 2
-16+18 = 2
2=2

X+3y=-14 -4x- 3y=2 this is elimination
