Answer:

the solution to the system of linear equations is, (2.3, 4.1)

Explanation:

Given the system of the equation:

2x+3y = 16.9 .....[1]

5x = y+7.4 .....[2]

Multiply equation [1] by 3 both sides we have;

15x = 3y+22.2 .....[3]

We can write equation [1] as:

3y = 16.9 -2x .....[4]

Substitute equation [4] and [3] we get;

15x = 16.9-2x+22.2

15x = 16.9-2x+22.2

15x = 39.1-2x

Add 2x to both sides we have;

⇒17x = 39.1

Divide both sides by 17 we have;

x = 2.3

Substitute the value of x in [2] we have;

5(2.3) = y+7.4

11.5 = y+7.4

Subtract 7.4 to both sides we have;

y = 4.1

Therefore, the solution to the system of linear equations is, (2.3, 4.1)
