Michiko works in a shop that rents cross-country skis. Two clients come in to rent skis. Michiko knows that a person's height is proportional to his or her correct ski length. She figures out that the first client, who is 70 inches tall, needs 210-centimeter skis. The second client is 63 inches tall. What length of skis does the second client need?

70/210 = 63/x ( / ) means divided by

70x=13230

x=189

The ski would be 189 centimeters.

Hope this helps!

Answer:

The length of the second person ski's will be 189 cm.

Explanation:

Michiko knows that a person's height is proportional to his or her correct ski length.

The person who is 70 inches tall, needs 210-centimeter skis.

The second client is 63 inches tall. Let his ski b 's' cm.

The relation forms:

(70)/(210) =(63)/(s)

70s=210*63

=>
70s=13230

s =
(13230)/(70)

s = 189

Hence, the length of the second person ski's will be 189 cm.
