The answer is D.) {-1, 15}

Here's how we figure this out:

Step 1.) Move all the terms to one side:
x^(2) -14x-15=0

Step 2.) Factor
x^(2) -14x-15=0: ( x -15 ) ( x +1 ) = 0

-In case you are wondering how we factored that, you simply ask which two numbers can add up to equal -14, and multiply to equal -15. Those two numbers are 1 and -15

-15 + 1 = -14

-15 · 1 = -15

Step 3.) Solve for x: Set each parenthesis equal to 0 and solve for x.

( x -15) = 0..........................Get rid of parenthesis

x - 15 = 0............................Add 15 to both sides

x = 15..................................Final answer

Also,

(x + 1) = 0...........................Get rid of parenthesis

x + 1 = 0.............................Subtract 1 from both sides

x = -1..................................Final answer

So, your two answers are { -1, 15 }

Future tip: When dealing with problems like these look at the exponent of the variable. Since we have
x^(2) there will be two answers for what x can equal. The same goes if x had an exponent of 3, there would then be 3 possible answers for what x equals ;)

I hope this helped!! :)) Have an amazing day :P
