Using FOIL, we multiply by the first polynomial to the other one in the parentheses. x times x is x^2. Now we have to multiply x by 2/3, which is 2/3x. Now we have to go to 4/3. We multiply 4/3 by the first polynomial in the other parentheses. 4/3 times x is 4/3 x. We then multiply 4/3 to the last polynomial in the other parenthesis. 4/3 times 2/3 is 8/9. Now, we add our terms. x^2 + 2/3x + 4/3x + 8/9. We can add 2/3x with 4/3x so we can simplify. 4/3+2/3= 6/3=2x. So our final answer will be x^2 + 2x + 8/9.
