3lb=5.88
divide both sides by 3
1lb=1.96
that is raised price
oldprice+0.75=newprice=1.96
minus 0.75 bot sides
oldprice=1.21
old price was $1.21
an equaiton form could be
3(p+0.75)=5.88
then divide both sides by 3 then minus 0.75
