8x8 = 64 (area of square)
3.14 x 4^2 = 3.14 x 16 = 50.24

64 - 50.24 = 13.76

answer: area of the shaded region is 13.76

Answer:

The area of the shaded region is 13.76 m² .

Explanation:

Formula

Area of the square = a²

Area\ of\ circle = \pi r^(2)

Where a is the side of the square and r is the radius of the circle .

Radius = (Diameter)/(2)

Radius = (8)/(2)

= 4m

π = 3.14

Thus

Shaded area = Area of the square - Area of the circle

Putting all the values in the formula

Shaded area = 8² - 3.14 × 4 × 4

= 64 - 50.24

= 13.76 m²

Therefore the area of the shaded region is 13.76 m² .
