What is the quotient of 4/10 + 5/8

Assuming your plus sign means divide:

(4)/(10) / (5)/(10) becomes

(4)/(10) * (8)/(5) you flip the second fraction and multiply. To multiply you multiply across the bottom and then across the top.

(4)/(10) * (8)/(5) = (32)/(50) or (16)/(25) or .64
