The renaissance was a period of intellectual and artistic creativity. The word renaissance means rebirth in French which refers to the rebirth of interest in Classical Greek and Roman ideas . The renaissance also changed in science, there was new theories that scholars tested. Authors wrote about individuals place in the world . Artists studied classical sculpture. Over the next 2 centuries the Renaissance changed the way Europeans thought of the world around them and themselves.
