5+2\ln (x)=4

1. Subtract 5 in both sides of the equation:

\begin{gathered} 5-5+2\ln (x)=4-5 \\ 2\ln (x)=-1 \end{gathered}

2. Divide both sides of the euqation into 2:

\begin{gathered} (2\ln (x))/(2)=-(1)/(2) \\ \\ \ln (x)=-(1)/(2) \end{gathered}

3. Wrie the lograrithm in exponential form:

\begin{gathered} \ln (x)=b \\ x=e^b \\ \\ \\ \ln (x)=-(1)/(2) \\ \\ x=e^{-(1)/(2)} \end{gathered}

4. Use properties of powers to rewrite:

\begin{gathered} x=\frac{1}{e^{(1)/(2)}} \\ \\ x=\frac{1}{\sqrt[]{e}} \end{gathered}

5. Evaluate:

x\approx0.607

Then, the solution for the given equation is approximately 0.607
