Which of the following is an example of a chemical change? A mixture of flour, sugar, eggs, and butter is baked to become a cake. Flour and sugar are sifted together into a measuring cup. Chocolate squares are melted to make cake icing. The shell of an egg breaks when it is struck against a hard surface.

A chemical change is when a new product is made. When the shell of an egg breaks, it doesn't form a new substance. This is the same for the flour and sugar sifting together, it becomes a mixture.

Intuition might say that chocolate squares melting might be a chemical change, but this is also not true. This is because this is just a change in state.

So, your answer is: A mixture of flour, sugar, eggs and butter is baked to become a cake

Hope I helped!! xx
