Like any other substance, gases have mass. However, they are difficult to weigh. It is much easier to measure the volume of a gas, for example, in a gas syringe. Fortunately, we can convert the volume of a gas directly into moles without having to find its mass. In this unit you will find out how to do this and practise by doing some examples.
From volume to molesIn the nineteenth century scientists discovered that equal volumes of any gas at the same temperature and pressure contain the same number of molecules.
