When Excel first opens a workbook, the first open spreadsheet is labeled "Sheet 1" by default. The workbook, on the other hand, is labeled "Book1" by default. It is automatically assigned to create a file name for the spreadsheet. This is also applicable for word files which are labeled "Document1" by default.
