Subtract from last to first to find the difference:

4/4 -3/4 = 1/4

The rule is add 1/4 each time

4/4 + 1/4 = 5/4

next term = 5/4

common difference formula:

An = a1 (n-1)+d

where:

a1 = first term

d = common difference

an = 1/4 (n-1)+ 1/4
