Printing out art made it easier for artists to mass-produce their art (or at least replicate their work at a faster rate), and take less time doing it as well.

Printmaking played a significant role in spreading the knowledge and ideas of art in Europe. It helped in spreading of the illustration which became popular among the people because it was cheap and it was produced in masses. Printmaking generated revenues for the painter, also gave a chance for the younger painters to publish their art and spread in public.
