Substitute and you'll have:


x=(-b+/-√(b^2-4ac) )/(2a) =(3+/-√((-3)^2-4(1)(2)) )/(2(1))=(3+/-√(9-8) )/(2))


(3+/-√(1) )/(2)=(3+/-√(1) )/(2)=(3+/-1 )/(2)= 2 , 1
