(1)/(3) (6x-5)-x=(1)/(3) -2(x+1)

We will be using the Distributive Property shown below:

5(x+1) = 5x+5

Distribute 1/3 and -2:


(6)/(3) x-(5)/(3)-x=(1)/(3) -2x-2:

Combine Like Terms:


x-(5)/(3) =-2x-(5)/(3)

Add 2x to both sides:


3x-(5)/(3) =-(5)/(3)

Add 5/3 to both sides:
