Explanation:

In order to calculate the length of the base of a square pyramid you just have to work the formula backwards, you have the value for the height and the volume, the formula for the square pyramid is the next one:


V=(Ab*H)/(3)

And we just insert the values we know into the formula:


48=(Ab*9)/(3)

Now we clear the Ab from the formula:


(48)(3)=Ab*9


((48)(3))/(9) =Ab


Ab=((144))/(9)


Ab=16

We know that the area of the base is equal to 16, and as we know the formula for the area of a square is:


Area=Side^(2)

So if the area is 16 we just calculate the square root and the length of the side is 4.
