a force of 50n is applied to a horizontal rope attached to a 40kg sled that can slide freely on ice, pulling the sled a distance of 3.0 m. What speed does the sled have at the end of the 3.0m if it was initially at rest?

fisrt solve the acceleration of the sled, using the formula
F = ma
50 N = (40 kg) a
a = 1.25 m/s^2

then using the formula
2ax = vf^2 - v0^2
where a is the acceleration
x is the distance
vf is the final velocity
v0 is the initial velocity
2(1.25) ( 3 m) = vf^2 - (0)^2
vf = 2.74 m/s is the speed of the sled at 3 m
