-2x+4=10 (divide -2 from both sides)
x+4=-5 (subtract 4 from both sides)
x=-9 (simplify)

-2x+4=10
You need to get the x alone so first combine like terms by subtracting the 4 from both sides
-2x=6
Now divide both sides by -2 to get x alone
x=-3

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any questions.
