You can convert 4/5 into decimal form by dividing 4 by 5 which is equal to 0.8. 0.8-0.7=0.1 ft. Since the 1 is only one decimal place to the right of the decimal point it is equal to 1/10 ft.

0.7= 7/10
the difference is 4/5-7/10
8/10- 7/10
therefore Aaron's pencil is 1/10 or 0.1 feet longer than his pen
