Let f(x) = 3x^2 + 2 A new quadratic function g(x) is the function f(x) stretched vertically by a factor of 4. What is the equation of g(x)?

A. g(x) = 3x^2 + 6

B. g(x) = 12x^2 + 2

C. g(x) = 3x^2 + 8

D. g(x) = 12x^2 + 8

A. g(x) = 3x^2 + 6

If you are stretching vertically, that is along the Y axis. The original +2 is the y-intercept, so you add 4 onto the equation where the y (vertical) will be placed.
