In Kenya, the literacy rate for males is 90.6% while the rate for girls is 79.7%. In Sudan, 71.8% of males are considered literate as opposed to 50.5% of the female population. Which statement BEST describes what is causing the difference in literacy rates for males and females

Well, Usually it cost a lot for them to get education... and they are a more traditional based society... so men are more likely to be literate for work as opposed to girls.

In africa,for social,cultural andeconomic issues males have had access to better education opportunities than females.Tribalism,religious influences and social standards contribute significantly for the gap in the literacy rate.
