1. C because B and A are too specific in order to find the overall theme.
2. D because there are some parts like "no! in deirium--no!" and some slower parts "but still will not say that all of consiousness was lost"

A. There is always hope even in the face of death.
B. She faints.
C. Maybe a near death experience
D. Fast

I'm not sure about C. But otherwise I feel like I have a handle on it.
