What was the impact of the cotton gin?

The cotton gin sped cotton production by automatically removing the seeds from cotton. This was intended to make a slaves job easier. Though it actually increased the number of slaves due to faster cotton production.

It greatly helped speed up cotton production in the south, and was considered a revolution at the time. Hope this helps!
