1/4 multiplied by 72 is 18. 5/8 multiplied by 72 is 54. There are 18 pop music CD's in the shipment and 54 country music CD's in the shipment.

By taking 72 multiplied by 5/8 will give you 45 pop cd's
By taking 72 multiplied by 1/4 will give you 18 country cd's
45 added to 18 will give you a total of 63 total CD's minus the 72 leave you with 9 CD's left over.
