40 units

Explanation:

This question is essentially asking the perimeter of the traingle

We can easily find the sides AC and BA and while you can use the distance formula to find the last side this is a right triange so we will take an easier approach

So because AC has the same y we can very easily figure out how far apart they are by subtracting (or counting) the x values

For me I got AC= 15

AB is kind of the same deal but instead subtract the y value

I got BA= 8

We can now use the a^2+b^2=c^2 formula to get the length of the last side

8^2+15^2=c^2

This means that 289=c^2

take the square root of both sides to get

c=17

The final step is to get the perimeter which is 17+8+15 or 40
