in order to solve the given problem, use the tangent identity.
tan A = o / a
where a is the angle the football player kicks the ball
o is the height of the goal post
a is the distance of the ball from the yard
from the formula
a = o / tan A
a = 3.33 / tan 10
a = 18.89 yards
