Answer:

Option D. He paid $4.36 too much is correct

Explanation:

Cost of 1 gallon milk = $2.89

Cost of each loaves of bread = $2.19

Cost of two loaves of bread after Discount Coupon of 75% is applied on one loaf = 2.19 + (2.19 - 0.75 × 2.19)

= 2.19 + (2.19 - 1.64 )

= 2.19 + 0.55

= $2.74

Cost of 1 pound ham = $6.89

Cost of 2 pounds of ham = 2×6.89

= $13.78

Cost of 1 pound cheese = $8.38

Cost of half pound cheese = 0.5 × 8.38

= $5.028

Total cost = 2.89 + 2.74 + 13.78 + 5.028

= $24.44

Total cost after adding 4% sales tax = 24.44 + 0.04×24.44

= $25.47

And the amount which is actually paid by Luis = $29.83

Hence, he paid extra money than actual cost by : 29.83 - 25.47 = $4.36

Therefore, Option D. He paid $4.36 too much is correct
