C.avoid being dominated by either the United States or the Soviet Union.

The Non Aligned Movement was an effort done by countries to keep political neutrality in the midst of the Cold war. The meetings celebrated in Belgrad in 1961 established the principles of the states in regards to cooperation and development in International Politics.

These are 3 out of the 10 Principles that serve as guidelines:

Respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations

Recognition of the equality of all races and of the equality of all nations large and small

Abstention from intervention or interference in the internal affairs of another country

As the bipolar world no longer exists, the importance of the Non Aligned Movement came loose, it was a major force for activism globally in the 1980s.
