I have a math problem it says: He used 160 batteries in 40 calculators. how many batteries are required for 225 calculators? Can I have a little help please?

I have a math problem it says: He used 160 batteries in 40 calculators. how many batteries-example-1

You can set up an equality:

40/160 = 225/x

Cross multiply:

40x = 160(225)

Evaluate:

40x = 36000

Isolate x:

x = 900.

So, 900 batteries are required for 225 calculators.
