Are self driving cars something that we need or unsafe? Why?

I would say it comes to a point; elders who are unable to drive but are able to care for themselves and cant take a bus or know how to get an 'uber', would find a self-driving car applicable. So, i believe it can be very unsafe, but there are particular reason to why certain people would find it a necessity.

I feel like, with our unstoppable technology progress right now, maybe that's something we need. Some people like my grandmother are stuck in their house all day, because they cannot drive anymore, and have no one to take them anywhere. Maybe this is just the solution! With all the impossible things scientists and researchers have made possible, we can have self-driving cars!
