The equation for density is mass divided by volume. the mass of a substance is changed so that it is made of fewer particles. If its volume is unchanged, how will its density change?

Density is directly proportional to mass. So if there's less matter inside object, its density will also reduce.

Answer:

Density will decrease

Step-by-step explanation:

In any division equation, if the numerator decreases, while the denominator stays constant, then the overall answer will decrease.

In this case, the formula is:

Density = Mass/Volume

If the mass is to decrease while the volume stays constant, then the overall answer (density), will decrease.
