A.Liberalism expects equal rights for all people within a state, while nationalism favors a specific identity based on culture.

Liberalism believes in the individual rights of the citizens whereas nationalism focuses on the state over the individual.

Liberalism became popular during the 19th century. It brought up issues of slavery, voting rights, women's rights, and the right of citizens to natural rights. Liberals believe the government is suppose to support and protect the rights of citizens and put the individuals first.

Nationalism became popular worldwide leading up to World War I and II. Nationalism focuses on creating a united culture and eliminating or destroying people who are different. The state is most important and typically a large military is important in a nationalistic period. Uniformity and allegiance to the country is expected and those who question the government are deemed enemies of the nation.

The answer would be A because liberalism seeks the equalization of social stance, power, food, and other basic necessities.
