So total amount spent to buy cereal = $(2.50y)

1.25x + 2.50y < 10

By dividing the inequality by 1.25 we get

x + 2y < 8

Now we draw this inequality on graph then we will show it by a dotted line and area will be shaded under the line.

If we rewrite the equation of line as x + 2y = 8
y= (1)/(2)(-x+8)
