The civil rights movement is when the blacks finally got treated equal. For a while they were treated blacks unequally.

The situation with segregation was that it was unfair to blacks. Segregation is the separation of two groups of people because of race. The Civil Rights movement used boycotting and protesting as non-violent means and combat. It was effective because businesses would lose money if blacks did not use the services they provided.
