Since 2 pounds is $3 and you have $9, you would do:
, x= # of pounds of apples
You do cross multiplication to get:
x=6
1 lb= 16 oz
So to get the number of ounces you can buy for $9.
Then divide 96 by 5, so that is ABOUT 19 APPLES.
