The structure of a body part is related to its function. How does the structure of a neuron reflect the function of transmitting messages, or electrical signals?

A. Neurons have a cell body that contains a nucleus.

B. Neurons have a phospholipid bilayer.

C. Dendrites are located at both ends of a neuron.

Ans. Option (D).

Neurons are fundamental structures of nervous system and brain. The structure of a neuron reflects its basis function, that is, to transmit the information to target cells, by carrying out information from one neuron to another neuron.

For this, neurons show long extensions and branched network. These long extensions extend out from the cell bodies of neurons, known as dendrites. These dendrites receive the signals from axon terminals and transmit them to the cell body.

Thus, the correct answer is option (D).
