Ok, you want to put a dot on the -1 going vertically and then go down seven points and one to right, then place a dot.

Answer:

Given function:

  • y = -7x - 1

This is a linear function. To graph this you need to plot two different points and connect them with a line.

Examples of the points:

  • x = 0, then
  • y = -7*0 - 1 = -1

and

  • x = 1, then
  • y = -7*1 - 1 = -8

So the points are:

  • (0, -1) and (1, -8)

See attached graph
