I will take them 7 weeks:
40*7=280 800-280=520
30*7=210 310+210=520

Set up the amounts to a equal sides equation.

You know that Ramona has 800 (dollars) total and is taking out -40x per week.

You know that Xavier has 310 (dollars) total and is adding + 30x per week.

So we set all we know to equal to eachother.

800 - 40x = 310 + 30x

First we'd subtract the 310 from the 800, because adding the 800 would be more complicated.

800 - 40x = 310 + 30x
-310 - 310

670 - 40x = 30x

Now to isolate the -40x onto the otherside.

670 - 40x = 30x
+40x +40x

670 = 60x

Now to get the 'x' alone, we must divide both sides by 60.

670 = 60x
/60 /60

11.1666667 = x

Depending on whether you wish to round it, we could say also 12 weeks as well.

The answer is 11 (or rounded 12) weeks until both Xavier and Ramona have the same amount in their accounts.

Hope this helped! c:
