How does the reaction affect oxygen atoms?

In the oxygen structure, all electrons are paired, thus, making oxygen dimagnetic. But actual experiments have shown that oxygen has paramagnetic properties. They are attracted to magnets.

The oxygen atoms react according to the kind of reaction it undergoes. Mostly, O2 is present in combustion reactions. For example, combustion of carbon:

C + O2 ---> CO2
