Ok.

She said that c=2, which, well, is obviously wrong because 2/12 does not equal or is not the same as 24.

So we know she messed up somewhere right?

Lets correct her work first.

In order for c/12 = 24, then we need to know:

What number divided by 12 = 24.

Simple the opposite of division is...
MULTIPLICATION!.
'
24 x 12 = 288.

So the real answer is C= 288.

Her mistake?
She ended up putting 24 as the numerator. 24/12 which made her get the answer 2. because 24 divided by 12 is , well, 2.

Really all she had to do is multiply 24 by 12.
Not 12 by 12.
Which is what she did when she did this.

12(c/12)
because () = multiply.

In a nutshell C actually equals 288 not 2.
