.This is how I do problems like these: Basically 8.5 is the same as 8.50. I look at the .50 and I take half of 50. Half of 50 is 25 and half of 8 is 4. So the answer would be 4.25. I hope this helps!

8.5m=850cm Divide by 2= 425cm. Which is equal to 4250mm
