to solve this use the Pythagorean Theorem.

a² + b² = c²

a and b are the lengths of the legs, c is the length of the hypotenuse.

8² + 15² = c²
289 = c²
√c² = √289
c = 17 <-- answer

The answer would be 17 cm because 8 squared + 15 squared = 289. You have to square root the 289 and you get 17 cm
