write the polynomial in standard form. then name the polynomial based on its degree and number of terms. x^2+1−8x

Standard form is just the polynomial in decreasing number of degree. So you have to rearrange it as : x^2 - 8x + 1. This is a second degree trinomial, as it has three terms and the highest number of degree being 2.
