1) A small train at an amusement park is carrying passengers. Half of the passengers are 6 years old, 1/10 are 7 years old, 1/5 are 8 years old and 1/5 are 9 years old. What is the expected age for one of the passengers on the train?

=(1)/(2)

Number of passengers who are 7 years old
=(1)/(10)

Number of passengers who are 8 years old
=(1)/(5)

Number of passengers who are 9 years old
=(1)/(5)

E(X=6+X=7+X=8+X=9)

=6 × P(6) +7 ×P(7)+8×P(8)+9×P(9)


=6* (1)/(2)+7* (1)/(10)+8* (1)/(5)+9* (1)/(10)\\\\ =3+0.7+1.6+0.9\\\\ =3+2.3+0.9\\\\=6.2

Option A :6 (approx) ,appears true.
