6(x + 8) = 72
6x + 48 = 72
6x + 48 + 48 = 72 + 48

What was the error and explain then give the correct answer.

After 6x+48=72, you have to subtract 48 on both sides not add. Your final answer will be x=4. 72-48=24.. 24/6= 4.
