Answer:

The area of given composite figure is 488 cm²

Explanation:

Given: Figure consisting of a rectangle and a triangle.

We have to find the area of the given composite figure.

Since, the figure given consist of a triangle and rectangle we can find the area by finding area for rectangle and triangle and then add them up.

Consider the rectangle ABCD ,

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Length = 22 cm

and breadth = 17 cm

Therefore, Area of rectangle = 22 × 17

Area of rectangle ABCD = 374 cm²

Since, opposite sides of rectangle are equal AC = BD = 22 cm

BD = BF + FD

So, FD = 22 - 10 = 12 cm

Area of triangle =
(1)/(2) bh,

Where h is height and b is base

Given triangle has height 19 cm

and base DF = 12 cm

So area of triangle DEF =
(1)/(2) 12 * 19=114,

Thus, Area of triangle is 114 cm²

Therefore, the area of given composite figure = area of rectangle + area of triangle

The area of given composite figure =374 + 114 = 488 cm²
