purchase price. How much will Jane pay for the jacket,
including tax?

original cost = $50

discount = 25% so 25% of $50 = 0.25 x 50 = $12.50

Therefore sale price = 50 - 12.50 = $37.50

Sales tax of 4% = 0.04 x 37.50 = $1.50
