The teacher separated her class of forty six students into two groups. One group has 4 more more than twice as many students as the group.use variables s for the group with less students

Estudiantes: 46
Grupo 1 = 2s + 4
2º grupo = s

(2s + 4) + s = 46
2s + 4 + s = 46
3s 4 = 46
3s = 46 - 4
3s = 42

[TEX] s = \ frac { 42} {3} \\ \\ s = 14 [/ tex]

1er grupo = 2s + 4
1er grupo = 2 (14) + 4
1er grupo = 28 + 4
1er grupo = 32

2º grupo = 14
